Beasts Of Yore: Sea Monk by DimeSpin Beasts Of Yore: Sea Monk by DimeSpin
This is the piece I did for the Beasts of Yore portfolio ([link]). some of the sea creatures of myth and legend were pretty weird.

I think he's praying for the mermaids.

Painted with The GIMP.

Aahhh, this is absolutely wonderful ;A;
The lighting is beautifully done, and you managed to convey so well the like, feel of things. The solidity of his body compared to his robe...
And it looks like it's underwater!
THIS IS AWESOME ♥

Dime. DIME. Oh gosh. The lighting in this is so, so so so soooo beautiful. I feel like the LIGHTS could be a little brighter, but otherwise. WOW. Gorgeous. I LOVE his tailfin, too, and all the wonderful textures. <3

If I recall there has been some suggestion that squid were actually the basis for the seamonk.

people had interesting imaginations back in the day.

His prayers might be because Mermaids have been recently classified as a Halal or kosher (can't remember which) meat. ^.^
